Flores de Mayo with Our Own Santacruzan

May is a special month in the Philippines for the tradition of Flores de Mayo, which honors the Virgin Mary. To mark the end of the month, Club Balai Isabel held its own Santacruzan procession, a meaningful event made possible by the wonderful participation of our own employees.

On May 31st, our staff members came together to bring the Santacruzan to life. The Santacruzan is a traditional procession that reenacts the finding of the Holy Cross by Saint Helena (or Reyna Elena) and her son, Constantine the Great. As the highlight of the month-long Flores de Mayo festival, it is a cherished Filipino tradition that combines religious devotion with community celebration. Our staff members took on the roles of the Reynas, escorts, and other biblical figures that are central to this story.

The procession moved through the resort and concluded with a blessed Mass at our Spousal of Mary and Joseph Chapel. The service was led by Rev. Fr. Eugene Dominic I. Hechanova. We'd also like to give a special thank you to Ms. Cath Calalang for her beautiful singing during the Mass.

The event was a great display of our team's community spirit and dedication. We are proud of our staff for leading such a heartfelt celebration and are grateful to everyone who participated. It was a sincere and memorable way to celebrate one of our most cherished local traditions.
