Creative CAD Technician – Fabrication & Prototyping
Are you a CAD whiz with a passion for bringing designs to life? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a creative spirit? We're seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Creative CAD Technician – Fabrication & Prototyping to transform digital concepts into tangible products, with a primary focus on operating and maintaining our CNC and CO2 laser machines.
About the role
You'll be at the heart of our fabrication process, using your CAD expertise to prepare designs for production on our CNC and CO2 laser machines. We'll provide comprehensive training on these machines and our specific software and fabrication methods, but your foundational CAD knowledge will be essential. An interest in industrial design or a background in a related field is a major plus.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and translate 2D and 3D CAD designs into production-ready files for CNC and laser cutting.
Operate and maintain CNC and CO2 laser machines to create prototypes and final products.
Collaborate with designers and engineers to refine designs for optimal manufacturability using these machines.
Maintain meticulous records and documentation for machine usage, maintenance, and project progress.
Your Skills & Qualifications
Proficient in CAD software (specific platforms are a bonus, but not required)
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Passion for design and hands-on creation
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Experience with CNC or laser cutting (preferred but not required)
